Andres Cabrera-Garcia is a Cuban-born artist who has lived and worked in Cuba, Spain's Canary Islands, and the U.S. His work focuses on identity, place, and belonging through the lens of landscape and oil painting. He often explores the transformation of natural landscapes into urban environments. Notable exhibitions include Circumscribed Landscapes at Deering Estate in 2023, Krome Avenue at Coral Gables Museum in 2019, and Outside of Cuba in Switzerland in 2018. Cabrera-Garcia received third place in the Paint-Me Miami competition in 2019; he is the recipient of the 2024 MIA grant from the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs department and is an Artist-in-Residence at Deering Estate.
